Hiking suggestions with accommodation

If you want to hike more than a day at Hovdala Hiking Centre, we have suggestions and tips on suitable routes with overnight stays. In the forests around Hovdala you can get nature and cultural experiences for several days.

Take the train to Hässleholm

Think about the environment, take the train with your hiking boots on and start your hike directly at the train station in central Hässleholm. From here you find orange trail signs for Skåneleden/ Hovdalaleden. You can of course use our suggestions as inspiration for shorter hiking experiences along our other local trails in the area.

Hiking tips

Start/finish for all our suggestions is the train station area in central Hässleholm. The location of the accommodations are indicated by a blue star in the maps below. To illustrate the direction of the trails more properly there are blue and/or orange arrows.

Plan your hiking

Take breaks for rest and picnics, and experience the sights during your day out in nature. We can recommend a stop along Alslingan trail, bring you binoculars to the bird tower Slingra Dig, meditate at the yoga platform at "Mossen", enjoy the beautiful sight at Trädhuset or participate in a guided tour at Hovdala castle or any of the exhibitions. Take a walk in the park and gardens which are open all year round. Have something to eat in the restaurant/café.

Check the opening hours for accommodation facilities, cafes and restaurants in advance!

Do you need to pre-book the wind shelters?

You must pre-book your accommodation in Birk, Birka and Ronja at campsite Between dusk and dawn at Hovdala Hiking Centre. The shelters at Göingeåsen or Hässleholmsgårdcen are subject for availability and cannot be pre-booked.

You are allowed to camp in a tent for a night or two in the countryside according to the Right of Public Access. But do not destroy and do not disturb!
